Board of Education Adopts Capital Construction Project Propositions
On Tuesday, March 28, the Lake Shore Board of Education adopted two propositions for the Capital Construction Project. These propositions will be a part of the annual budget vote on Tuesday, May 16, 2017.
Site work will include roof repair, masonry work, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work as well as renovations to gymnasiums, and science areas in all buildings across the District, including Transportation.
This Proposition will have ZERO effect on the local tax levy.
Capital Construction Project Part 2 - $16,496,730 (Prop 4 on ballot)
Site work will include instructional classroom renovations and upgrades to auditoriums, music and technology areas, as well as an expanded instructional space for music, technology and physical education via an addition to the High School.
This Proposition impact to the local taxpayers will be 1.07% per $100,000 home assessment, or $18.98 beginning with the 2019-2020 budget year.
A community meeting on this Capital Construction Project was held on April 18. The Annual School Budget Meeting, Capital Construction Project Public Hearing, and Board Work Session will be held on May 9, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Senior High School Media Center. All District stakeholders are encouraged to attend.
