Welcome to Room 114!!
I am very excited to have your child in my classroom this year! Academics will predominately occur during the morning hours into early afternoon. It is very important for your child to be here everyday and on time. In 4th grade the children will be learning through all content areas including English Language Arts (Reading, Writing, Grammar, Spelling), Math, Science, and Social Studies.
The demands in 4th grade are high so we like to have fun learning and impressing our friends and family. The students need to work hard during the morning hours and then they are able to play hard during recess after lunch! This allows their brains a break and then they are ready to learn full force again in the afternoon hours!
We will be following the Common Core Standards and we are excited to meet these expectations through a series of module units. Homework may be given in addition to reading and practicing math facts. The students are expected to know their basic multiplication and division facts by memory when they come to 4th grade.
