    Teacher Introduction-

This is my 21st year teaching at the elementary level. I have teaching experience in second and fifth grade. Most of my professional career has been instructing at the third grade level.   I have been married for 21 years. I have two children. My daughter is in 11th grade, and I have a 10 year old daughter that is in 5th grade at A.J. Schmidt!  Being a parent has helped me to understand the amount of time and energy it takes to raise respectful and kind children.   I truly believe that educating and caring for the children in our communities and world begins with each of us making the effort to work together.

    Homework Policy-

Homework is an integral part of your child’s academic success. Homework reinforces the skills learned in school. There will be homework Monday through Thursday. Students will spend approximately 30 minutes completing homework. If they finish early, students can use the remainder of the time reading at their instructional level. If the homework is too difficult, then have your child spend the allotted time on their work and bring the unfinished portion in the next day. Students should be able to complete homework with minimal assistance.

    Communication-

I feel it is essential that we work together to help your child be successful. A key factor in this is our communication. If you have any questions, then please call me at 716-926-2716. You can also write a quick note in your child’s agenda. I check student agendas at the end of each day; therefore, if you need me to reach you that day, then it would be more effective to write a note on a separate sheet of paper.
