Hello!
My name is Mrs. Carol Zeffiro. I am a First Grade Teacher at the Anthony J. Schmidt Elementary School in the Lake Shore Central School District.
I have been teaching for 32 years! I began teaching Pre-First Grade at Jerusalem Corners Elementary School from 1987 - 1991. At that time, I switched to teaching First Grade from 1991 - 1994. In 1994, I moved to Brant Elementary School where I taught one year of Kindergarten and seventeen years of First Grade. As you can see, first grade is truly my favorite! In 2010, Brant Elementary School was closed. I then moved to Anthony J. Schmidt where I taught another year of Kindergarten. I was able to go back to First Grade the following year. I am thrilled to be back and plan to stay in First Grade for the remainder of my teaching career! :D
I received a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education from State University of New York (SUNY) at Fredonia in 1987. I received a Masters of Science degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Learning and Behavioral Disorders from State University of New York at Fredonia in 1992. I continue to further my education by taking graduate level courses and staff development courses in order to keep current on teaching techniques, theory, and research. I have completed 60 credit hours past my Masters degree!
I currently reside in Brant, New York with my husband, Frank, and many pets. Our son, Mike, lives near New York City and is a member of the FDNY (Fire Dept of NYC). He is also a Jazz Pianist. Our son, Eric, lives in Buffalo and is an architect/designer with Young And Wright Architectural.
