Mrs. Michele Amoia-Hornberger graduated from Buffalo State College in 1995.  She completed her student teaching in Amherst Central School District and in the Buffalo Public School System.  Her early career included substitute teaching and teaching at Martin Luther Christian School.  Mrs. Amoia came to the Lake Shore Central School District in 2000.  Mrs. Amoia teaches fifth grade but taught third grade at Waugh for over twenty years.  In addition, Mrs. Amoia-Hornberger is also an Adjunct Professor at Medaille College and is a Lead Instructor for New York State United Teachers (NYSUT).

Mrs. Amoia-Hornberger grew up in Buffalo, New York and attended all Buffalo Public Schools.  She moved to West Seneca, New York and absolutely loves it.  She has three beautiful children.  This includes twin boys and her daughter.  She also has a step-son with her husband, Ron.  Their little family of six is very busy with football, dance, gymnastics, cello, piano, saxophone, teaching and working hard! In her free  time, she's usually planning a party or get together for her family and friends.  Her hobbies include:  camping at the lake, reading, decorating, cooking, and photography (of her family and friends).

Mrs. Amoia-Hornberger looks forward to every day spent with "her children" in her classroom.  She loves getting to know each child academically and personally.  Her students know they can rely on her to be their voice.  She enjoys a challenge and encourages children to be the best they can be! Mrs. Amoia believes that parents are the best "teachers" and looks to consistently bridge the gap between school and home.  Students come back year after year to visit Mrs. Amoia-Hornberger!
