School-based Physical Therapists assist a student's participation in a variety of settings throughout their school day. Physical Therapy is provided at school only when it is related to educational needs. Intervention is designed to enable the student to travel safely throughout the school environment, participate in classroom activities, maintain and change positions in the classroom, as well as manage stairs, restrooms, the bus, the cafeteria, and the playground. School-based therapy is not intended to meet all the therapeutic needs of a student but ensures that the student can have physical access to his or her education.
