    Dear Parent /Guardian,

Welcome to the 2020-21 School Year.  This year promises to be like no other year in my 28-year career.  As you know, Lake Shore Middle School will be running a Hybrid program to start the school year.

This means that Middle School students will attend in person classes two days per week and they will be given instructional packets to complete the other three days per week.

Generally speaking, students whose last names begin with A-J, will be in the green grouping and will attend classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; students whose last names begin with K-Z will be in the white group and they will attend classes on Thursday and Friday.

The Middle School has been under construction since January.  The parent drop-off loop at the front of the middle school is now complete.  If you are dropping your child off in the morning you will need to access the loop from Route 5.

Please do not drive through the Lot #2 and Lot #3 parking lots which are designated drop off points for buses only.

Students will be admitted to the building at 7:25 AM.  Please do not drop students off prior to that.  Patience will be a key as you negotiate the parent drop off loop and I’m certain it will be chaotic the first few days.  Parent pickup at the end of the day will begin at 2:27 PM.

The Middle School Academic day begins with the morning annoucements at 7:37 AM.  Students arriving to thier homeroom after that will be considered tardy.  Instruction concludes at 2:27 PM

Sixth Grade and New Student Orientation will occur on Wednesday September 2nd and Thursday September 3rd the schedule will be:

    September 2nd                                      September 3rd

      Evolution – Green 8:00-8:30                   Evolution – White 8:00-8:30

Unity –Green 8:30-9:00                           Unity –White 8:30-9:00

New students to the District – 8:00-8:30

      Unity –White 8:30-9:00

      Ebling – Gold 8:30-9:00

Mrs. Mullin’s team is Team Evolution

Ms.  Muldowney’s Team is Team Unity

The middle school has been arranged so that we can maintain social distance throughout the building.  Masks that cover the nose and mouth must be worn when social distance cannot be maintained and while on the school bus and in the hallways during passing time.  Enhanced cleaning protocol are in place and personal protective shields will be used during lunches.

We are looking forward to having students in the building this fall, and we realize that things will be different and that you may have questions.  Please feel free to call us any time!

Enjoy the remainder of your summer!
