Hello to all of you who have found yourself on my page! I just wanted to give you a little background of how I became a Lake Shore Eagle.
My educational background:
I grew up in the Western New York area and graduated from Hamburg High School in 1999, where my path led me to Fredonia State College. I was fortunate enough to be involved in a wonderful education program and earned my Bachelor of Arts in English Education in 2003. I then went on to work on my graduate studies at Buffalo State College. I graduated with a Master of Science in English Education in 2007.
My Lake Shore background:
During my student teaching, I fell in love with middle-level education. I was fortunate to find a job in the area that I am passionate about, and I began teaching at Lake Shore Middle School in the fall of 2004. I have been working with 8th graders exclusively for over a decade and although I joke that I am forever "stuck" in eighth grade, I enjoy every crazy minute of working with this age group!
My personal background:
I am an avid reader, so I try to instill a love of reading for pleasure in my students. You can often find me outdoors; I am very active, a nature-lover, and am at my happiest gardening. I live in the Village of Hamburg with my husband, our children, Vera and Reid, and our dog, Hazel.
