Mrs. Schaller
Hello! My name is Rosanne Schaller and I'm very excited to be the commencement level Health teacher at Lake Shore Senior High. Health is very individual and what may work for one person, might not work for another. Above all, I would like students to leave my classroom confident in taking charge of their own health, and able to access any type of help that they may need. This course is information based but we will also take time to practice skills (it's not enough to know that exercise is beneficial to health....are you ACTUALLY making the time to do it)!
A little about me: First and foremost, I am a doting mother to 3 little boys Michael, Nik, and William. I am a proud Lake Shore graduate, born and raised in Derby. I completed my undergraduate degree in Health Sciences at State University of New York (SUNY) Brockport (and I always highly recommend that school). I completed my Master's degree at Canisius in Health and Physical Education, and I still try to find every opportunity to keep learning in the field. Just this summer I had a unique opportunity to take a self defense class and that ties into the National Standards including Health and Safety. My hobbies include spending time with family (we love hiking, good movie/popcorn nights, bonfires, swimming, playing PIG with the basketball), bicycling (spinning classes too), painting, and Netflix.
I am also very passionate about the Donate Life Club because my sons were saved by donation....all 3 of them! Every year our club organizes a blood drive through unyts to keep the blood local and help our community. I will never forget being in that very vulnerable position knowing that someone I love needed a donation, and luckily for us, it was always available....I want to make sure the donations are available for others! You can save up to 3 lives with one simple blood donation, and so many more with other types of donations. It is very important to me to give back, and to pay it forward....you never know when you or someone you care about is going to need that kind of help, and we can help each other!
Thank You for visiting my page and learning a little about me!
