Become a Google Certified Educator: https://edutrainingcenter.withgoogle.com/certification

    FROM 2015-16
I would like to share with you a new opportunity to advance your skills with Google Apps for Education through their online Training Center (https://edutrainingcenter.withgoogle.com/training). Google tools were the number one requested item by staff in an earlier teacher Professional Development survey. Through this online training center, you can now potentially earn several hours of professional development credit. This training is web-based, can be catered to your own needs and done outside of school hours at a time that is convenient for you. This should also help those teachers who have had recent Professional Development courses canceled on them due to low enrollment.

To make things even easier, I have attached a mostly completed Professional Development pre-approval request form for you. If interested, all you need to do is print, complete your personal information such as name/grade/building, sign and return to Christine Starks.

Here are some helpful documents if you would like to participate:

    FROM 2014-15
Google Apps for Education (GAFE) has arrived at Lake Shore! Several teachers have piloted Google Apps across multiple grade levels in multiple content areas on various devices with great success. We want any interested teacher to be able to take advantage of these tools and create even more learning opportunities for students. If you haven't used Google Apps for Education yet, there are numerous high quality tools at your fingertips that will enable you to do things that weren't possible in the past. The plan was to have an official launch in 2015-16 but we want to give teachers a chance to practice and apply some of these tools early, with students if you choose, and have these tools available in any preparation and planning for next school year. In addition to Drive, Docs, Mail, Sites, Hangouts and more, Lake Shore teachers & students will also have access to Google Classroom, just launched earlier this school year.

Feel free to attend sessions at any building if certain dates work better than others, however, Professional Development hours can only be given if you attend outside of the scheduled work day. Please email me and let me know if you plan on attending. I hope to see some of you at an upcoming session!
