Congratulations to the Lake Shore Track and Field Team for having an undefeated season winning both the Division and ECICs.
The depth of the team in all events enabled the boys to win meets and qualify for both ECIC and Sectional meets. over 20 athletes qualified for ECICs and Sectionals. Five athletes placed in the top five and earned patches at the Section VI meet. Max Zielonka placed 2nd in the triple jump, Simon Connors placed 3rd in the triple jump and 1st place in the 100 meter dash, Blake Hageman placed 3rd in the pole vault, and freshman Braeann Stender placed 1st in the 100 hurdles. First-placing athletes, Simon Connors (junior) and Brae Stender (freshman), qualified for the New York State Track and Field Championship Meet held last weekend in North Syracuse, and each achieved new personal records. Connors even beat the school record for the 100 meter dash by a running 10.7 (previously held by 2015 graduate, Michael Roach who ran a 10.9). Congratulations to the team and to these individual athletes for their success and for making Lake Shore proud!
