Lake Shore Schools and Local Partners Unite to Fight Hunger

The Lake Shore Central School District, in partnership with the Towns of Evans and Brant and the Village of Angola, has launched a districtwide holiday food drive to ensure local families have the support they need heading into the winter season.
Each Lake Shore school—and all three municipalities—are collecting both nonperishable food items and household hygiene essentials to benefit Operation Good Neighbor and FeedMore WNY, two organizations that provide critical assistance to families across Western New York.

Superintendent Phil Johnson said, “Food insecurity doesn’t take a holiday. When our community comes together, we make sure no one is left behind—that’s what it means to be One Lake Shore.”
Evans Town Supervisor Ray Ashton added, “When families are struggling, it takes everyone pulling together—schools, towns, and volunteers. The partnership with Lake Shore shows the real power of community unity.”
Angola Mayor Thomas Whalen said, “When our community works together, we do more than fill shelves—we lift spirits. Every donation helps a neighbor and strengthens the bond that makes Angola and Lake Shore such special places to live.”
Community members are encouraged to drop off donations through early December at any school or participating town hall.
