Certified Substitutes
Valid NYS teaching certificates or certificates of qualification. May be employed in any capacity for any number of days. If employed for more than 40 days in a school year, must be in the area of certification.
Candidates for Certification
Uncertified but completing collegiate study toward NYS certification (min. 6 semester hours/year). May be employed in any capacity for any number of days. If employed for more than 40 days in a school year, must be in the area of certification.
Uncertified Substitutes
Not working toward NYS certification. May be employed in any capacity, but limited to 40 days per school district in any school year.
Medical & Leave Documentation Submission
All disability, workers’ compensation, FMLA paperwork, physician notes, and medical release documentation must be submitted using one of the following approved methods only:
In Person
Delivered in person to Human Resources at the District Office.

Do NOT submit paperwork through interschool mail, email, or through your building secretary. These are the only approved methods for submitting medical and leave-related documentation.
