Eagles in Action: Project Updates
Next Milestone: Site Grading & Foundation Layout...
With the footprint cleared, our specialized site teams are moving in to begin high-precision laser grading. This critical phase ensures perfect drainage and a stable foundation for the pro-level turf fields and the massive new grandstand structure arriving later this year.
Making Room: Concession Stand Demolition
The skyline of our athletic complex changed yesterday as crews officially demolished the old concession stand. While the building served our community well for decades—hosting countless Friday night snacks and Eagle celebrations—its removal is a necessary step to make room for the expanded 1,000+ seat grandstands and modernized facilities our students deserve.
By clearing this central footprint, our teams have officially opened up the workspace required for the heavy site grading of our new pro-level turf diamonds. We are moving forward with purpose and efficiency to ensure our Eagles have an elite environment that matches their talent by Summer 2027.
End of an Era: Old Bleacher Removal
Two weeks ago, site teams began the major task of dismantling the original home-side bleachers. While generations of Lake Shore families cheered from these stands, the removal allows us to begin the groundwork for our new, state-of-the-art 1,044-seat grandstands featuring professional-grade sightlines and enhanced accessibility for all fans.
A Bold Start: The Sledgehammer Groundbreaking
On February 17, Lake Shore leadership and the project team gathered not with shovels, but with sledgehammers. Led by Superintendent Phil Johnson, this unique ceremony marked the official commencement of Phase 2 by beginning the demolition of the old press box.
This wasn't just about clearing space; it was a symbolic "break" from the old to make way for the elite, state-of-the-art facilities our students deserve. By physically removing the outdated structures, we are paving the path for the new 1,000+ seat grandstands and pro-level streaming capabilities that will define the Lake Shore experience for years to come.
