Lake Shore Swimmers Secure Gold at Special Olympics Meet
ANGOLA, NY – The Lake Shore Special Olympics Team delivered a strong performance at the swim meet held this past Saturday, May 9th, with two student-athletes taking home gold medals in their respective brackets.
Championship Finishes
Brian David led the Eagles in the lanes, securing gold medals in both the 50m and 100m freestyle events. His teammate, Tyler Griffin, also reached the top of the podium, earning a gold medal for his performance in his events. Both students demonstrated a high level of preparation and focus throughout the competition.
A Tradition of Support
Beyond the individual wins, the event served as a meeting point for the wider Lake Shore community. Students Lucas Rivera and Kryslinn Hamilton provided constant support from the sidelines, encouraging their teammates through every heat. The meet also saw the return of Lake Shore alumnus Nate Cox, a member of the Class of 2007, who attended to support the current generation of student-athletes.
The Lake Shore Central School District continues to prioritize programs that ensure students are supported, prepared, and connected to their community.
