A.J. Schmidt Elementary Welcomes New Kindergarten Families at Orientation
ANGOLA, NY – Lake Shore Central School District welcomed its newest students today during Kindergarten Orientation at A.J. Schmidt Elementary School, held from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.
While parents and guardians received important information about school processes and procedures, incoming kindergarteners got the chance to explore their new school environment. Students visited their classrooms, met their teachers and classmates for the first time, and dropped off the school supplies they'll be using throughout the year. They also practiced boarding and riding the bus to help ease any first-day jitters, and toured the cafeteria where they'll enjoy meals with their new friends.

Important Notes: Detailed information packets were mailed home today to help families prepare for the start of the school year. Families are welcome to bring any remaining school supplies to the building ahead of the first day. Families out and about on September 1 also had the chance to visit the W.T. Hoag Educational Center, 42 Sunset Boulevard, where the Erie County Sheriff's Office offered free Operation SAFE CHILD ID cards until 12:30 PM and the Evans Town Police Department conducted car seat safety checks until 1:00 PM.
